T2- TRAINSPOTTING 2 official trailer

Considering Trainspotting's status as one of the greatest films of the 90s, Danny Boyle had his work cut out with sequel T2 - and that was before he even came to compiling the soundtrack.

Despite the film still being a few weeks away from release, a list of featured songs has leaked on Amazon and - for the most part - it seems T2 will be a retro blast from the past.

Memorable tracks from the original have been given a reworking, namely Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life," which has been remixed by The Prodigy. "Born Slippy" by Underworld will also get rehashed, this time reworked as something titled "Slow Slippy."

For those of you worried the soundtrack was going to feature an onslaught of Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood, worry not - the soundtrack also includes songs from Blondie, Queen and Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

The more modern tracks include one song by Fat White Family, two from Young Fathers (Boyle's clearly a fan) and - as featured in the trailer - Wolf Alice's "Silk."

You can see the full track list below:

Lust for Life - Iggy Pop (The Prodigy Remix)

Shotgun Mouthwash - High Contrast

Silk - Wolf Alice

Get Up - Young Fathers

Relax - Frankie Goes To Hollywood

Eventually But (Spud's Letter to Gail) - Underworld and Ewen Bremner

Only God Knows - Young Fathers

Dad's Best Friend - The Rubberbandits

Dreaming - Blondie

Radio Ga Ga - Queen

It's Like That - RUN-DMC and Jason Nevins

(White Man) in Hammersmith Palais - The Clas

Rain or Shine - Young Father

Whitest Boy on the Beach - Fat White Family

Slow Slippy - Underworld

This follow-up, which was filmed in Edinburgh throughout 2016, will be based on Irvine Welsh's sequel Porno which was released in 2002. It can be assumed from this trailer that McGregor and Bremner will recreate the original's opening scene albeit one with a 21st-century upgrade.

Trainspotting centered on the lives of a group of heroin addicts residing in Edinburgh during the late Eighties. T2 hits cinemas on 27 January.
