Wonder Woman: Gal Gadot's heroine closes London's Trafalgar Square for WW1 scene

If you were walking nearby London's Trafalgar Square yesterday (21 February), you may have felt you were traipsing back in time seeing as the central location was transformed into a WW1 setting for DC's upcoming DC Wonder Woman.

Lead actress Gal Gadot was spotted shooting scenes on set while extras wearing period costumes were photographed filming a patriotic armistice celebration scene in the central London location.

Union Jack flags were also draped over the tourist hotspot.

Vintage cars could be seen driving around the area, meaning London buses were (rather inconveniently) redirected for up to five hours.

Actress Lucy Davis (best remembered as The Office's Dawn Tinsley) was also photographed, looking near unrecognisable in the role of an unknown character.

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster) and will also star Robin Wright, Chris Pine and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta, the mother of the superheroine.

Gadot will make her debut as the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice which is due to be released 25 March.

Wonder Woman will be released June 2017.
