With Marvel’s Avengers series making millions at the box office, it’s no surprise Hollywood producers are cashing in on the superhero spectacular currently going on.

Not one’s to be left behind, Fox have announced yet another X-Men film is in the works, to the five already slated for release (and that’s not including the two new Fantastic 4 movies).

Titled The New Mutants, Josh Boone, best known for The Fault In Our Stars, has been hired to direct and co-write the spin-off with Knate Gwaltney also on board as co-write, reports Deadline.

Unfortunately, not a lot is known about the movie except it will take place in Fox's superhero universe and will presumably follow a set of ‘new mutants’ as they learn about their new powers, much like in the comics.

Other X-Men films to be released in the meantime include Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse, Gambit, an untitled third Wolverine film and one currently titled X-Force. An X-Men TV series is also in development.

All of this is obviously inspired by Marvel Studio’s Cinematic universe which currently has 11 future films in the works including Spider-man, Captain Marvel and a two-part Avengers sequel, Avengers Infinity War.
