This period psychochiller is based on the true story of the "Bell Witch". Hmm, remind you of anything? It's Tennessee, 1818, and following a land dispute, farmer Donald Sutherland has been cursed, it seems, by a local witch. First the furniture is hurled around the house, then his daughter (Rachel Hurd-Wood) gets the full Exorcist treatment from an invisible demon. Director Courtney Solomon creates a storm of CGI to suggest the forces of darkness, but he's not kidding anyone: this is hammy horror, bereft of the smallest scare, and the last-minute twist is so rubbish you'll wish you had a curse of your own to put on it.
