This drama-documentary stages a mock trial in a modest courtyard in Mali. The plaintiff is "African society", no less, and the accused are the "international financial organisations" which keep Africa drowning in debt. Impassioned as it is, Bamako's one-sided recounting of the statistics is as earnest as a high school rally. That the G8's policies have been disastrous for the continent won't come as news to anyone who goes to see African art-house films.
