Brett Morgan's efficient documentary, sanctioned by the Stones, ticks off the main events – Keith Richards's incarceration and pardon in 1967, Brian Jones's demise, Hyde Park, Altamont and the heroin-fuelled recording of Exile on Main St in the French countryside – without delving too deeply into any of them.
Mick and Keef's love-hate relationship, Brian Jones's more unsavoury habits and the topic of women (Marianne Faithfull, Anita Pallenberg etc) are studiously avoided, but there's some riveting concert and backstage footage.
