DVD: Army of the Dead (15)
From the people who brought you Chop Shop and Deadly Wordz, comes Army of the Dead, the sort of fare you may be unlucky enough to catch late at night on the SyFy Channel.
The, sigh, plot involves friends out for an adventure drive, who end up searching for lost treasure. The catch? It is protected by knife-wielding skeletons. It's the production school of stack 'em high and shoot 'em cheap. The story, script, acting, and directing are all hopeless; the effects seriously shonky. The credits even misspell the lead actress's name. There's just not enough post-modern irony, or indeed alcohol, in the world to make this pleasurable late-night viewing.
