A dotty scientist (Jason Sudeikis) is convinced there are tiny people gallivanting around the nearby forest. His teenage daughter (Amanda Seyfried) is less convinced until she is shrunk to fairy size and in her reduced state encounters an earnest bunch of magical woodland dwellers, led by Beyoncé's queen and Colin Farrell's warrior, combating the evil, decay-loving Mandrake (Christoph Waltz). Epic is a perfectly serviceable, good-looking animation (above) enlivened by Aziz Ansari and Chris O'Dowd's droll slug and snail duo, Mub and Grub.
