The success of these sorts of rites-of-passage dramas is heavily dependent on the chemistry and likeability of the teenage actors, and Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso and Moises Arias excel as the three 16-year-olds who flee their rather nice but overbearing parents to decamp in the local woods for the summer. This deceptively slight comedy is full of invention, memorable lines and two terrific performances, from Nick Offerman (from Parks and Recreation) as an acerbic father and Arias's twisted teen.
