DVD: Captain America – The First Avenger, For retail & rental (Paramount)
The nice thing about Captain America is that, unlike most superhero movies, it's set during the Second World War, and it's true to the two-fisted, square-jawed spirit of a 1940s Saturday matinee serial.
Starring Chris Evans as a patriotic weed who's turned into a Nazi-socking hunk by a secret serum, it's a ripping yarn, with plenty of rousing fanfares and classic cars, and no irony to undermine the Boy's Own heroics.
