DVD: Heroes - Season 3 (15)
Various directors (1,125 mins)
When it first burst on to our screens, Heroes – with its high production values and the cryptic tagline "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" – was pitched as the new Lost.
The story of a group of seemingly ordinary people who suddenly discover they have superpowers, for a while it lived up to its billing, but when the second season began it became clear that it had lost its way. This, the third season, doesn't start well but thankfully the writers appear to get it together over the course of its 25 episodes. Although Heroes still has its rather silly moments, and some of the acting remains shockingly bad, importantly it regains its ability to grip the viewer – welcome news for those who have managed to stick with it.
