By sheer force of will and personality, Kristin Scott Thomas keeps Catherine Corsini's overwrought love story afloat.
Here she plays Suzanne, who is married to Yvan Attal's successful, cold French businessman, Samuel. Suzanne is quietly miserable until Sergi López's burly builder, Ivan, is hired to oversee an extension at her home. Soon she's sleeping with the "help". It's a plot lifted straight from a Robin Askwith-starring Confessions film. She leaves her unpleasant hubbie for Ivan, but Samuel is grimly determined to get her back; to cook his tea. Thomas's patrician features dominate every scene here and she's fast becoming our most watchable film actress.
