In 'Priceless', 'Amelie' star Audrey Tautou plays Irene, a gold digger on the Cote d'Azur, who one night drunkenly mistakes a waiter for a millionaire and beds him. When she learns the truth, she runs. But smitten Jean (Gad Elmaleh) quits his job, cashes his savings and pursues her down the coast. Tautou deserves credit for bravely conveying Irene's venality, as well as vulnerability, paving the way for a refreshingly acerbic romantic comedy.
