DVD: The Fighter, For retail & rental (Momentum)

Christian Bale won an Oscar for his motormouthed performance (and extreme weight loss) as Dicky Eklund, a crack-addicted boxing coach who both helps and hinders his half-brother, Micky Ward (Mark Wahlberg).

The twist is that Micky's relatives cause him more problems than any of his opponents in the ring, but otherwise this is a conventional sports movie in which redemption and victory come all too easily.
