DVD: Wuthering Heights

Andrea Arnold's bleak interpretation of Wuthering Heights is certainly a bold one.

It cuts off the story halfway through the book, and it shows everything from Heathcliff's point of view: if he overhears a snatch of conversation, then a snatch of it is all we hear, too. It's less of a stand-alone film than an intriguing, Emily Brontë-inspired video art installation that will mean very little unless you've read the novel.
