School for Scoundrels (12A)
In this forgettable remake of the British comedy, Jon Heder waters down his geek persona from Napoleon Dynamite to play a shy New York traffic warden. And Billy Bob Thornton waters down his sleazebag persona from Bad Santa to play the teacher of an assertiveness night-class. For just $5000 dollars, he'll tutor his lowly students to lie, cheat and fight their way to the top. It's funny at first, but then loses its way so badly that it somehow winds up as a high-tech espionage thriller.
