Oscar-winning Argentine director Juan José Campanella's 3D animated feature has been a box-office hit in Latin America but the customised British version doesn't altogether work.

The British voices and British football references seem incongruous given that the characters are South Americans.

The animation itself is highly inventive, especially in the final showdown match when the shy hero Amadeo (voiced by Rupert Grint) and his team of tiny table-football characters, shorter than the blades of grass, take on the might of the team put together by thuggish narcissist Grosso.
