Advance Christmas Turkeys, Part I. A fractious family assembles for Christmas at the Los Angeles home of their robust matriarch (Loretta Devine), and, in the traditional spirit of the season, let fly with all the grievances and resentments they've been bottling up throughout the year. None of it is remotely funny, but it won't make you gag unlike the treacly scenes of forgiveness and reconciliation that the screenwriter carefully ladles over the final half-hour. "Destined to become a Yuletide classic," claim the press notes. Well, they do say Christmas is a time for dreaming.
