Molly Shannon stars in this meandering, offbeat character study of a woman who struggles to fill the void left by the death of her beloved dog. After some tentative dates with a neighbour, John C Reilly, and a pet shelter employee, Peter Sarsgaard, she tip-toes down the path of animal activism and declares herself a vegan: "It's nice to have a word to describe yourself," she says.
