The ultimate 'Avatar' collector's 3-disc package

For fans of the all-time biggest blockbuster,
Avatar, the ultimate three-disc Extended Collector's Edition will be released in North America on November 16 and internationally beginning November 15. This DVD and Blu-ray release "unlocks the secrets of Pandora" with director James Cameron offering a guided tour of his vision.

The latest Avatar deluxe package will feature three versions of the film: the original theatrical release, a special edition re-release with an alternate opening scene, and a new collector's extended cut with 16 more minutes.

Disc two includes Capturing Avatar, an in-depth documentary covering the 16-year journey including all-new interviews with James Cameron, producer Jon Landau, and cast and crew members.

The third disc features a behind-the-scenes view on the making of Avatar during three stages of production, from performance capture to a 1990s video game version, "Pandora's Box" with filmmakers' interviews, plus over 45 minutes of deleted never-seen-before scenes.

The Avatar Extended Collector's Edition Blu-ray will provide more bonus material and interactive viewing, diving into the world of the Na'vi for everything any fan could possibly want.

Archive material such as a 300-page script, a "family" audio track deleting objectionable language, and the Pandorapedia reference are also included.

The DVD version of the Extended Collector's Edition will sell for $34.98 in the US, while the Blu-ray version is priced at $54.99.

The Oscar- and Golden Globe-winning sci-fi epic Avatar is already the top-selling Blu-ray disc of all time.
