The upcoming director of Breaking Dawn, the fourth installment of The Twilight Saga films, Bill Condon, who has directed films such as Dreamgirls and Kinsey, posted a letter on Facebook to introduce himself to "Twifans."
It reveals all the preparation he's doing to get familiar with the series, his admiration for the actors, and excitement about directing the final story. "Since making
Gods and Monsters thirteen years ago, however, I've been yearning for a return to a story with Gothic overtones," he writes of his enjoyment of vampire tales.
Condon starts by addressing: The Twilight Saga's Greetings Twihards, Twifans, Twilight Moms, Team Edward, Team Jacob and Team Switzerland...
Speaking of adapting the Stephenie Meyers bestsellers, he says: "Rooted in a beautiful, real landscape with a great sense of place, Bella, Edward, Jacob, and the rest of the Forks/La Push menagerie, experience emotions that are primal, and universal: desire, despair, jealousy - and it all comes to fruition in BREAKING DAWN."
The director ends with what is perhaps the most pressing concern - "P.S. Answer #1: No, there won't be any musical numbers."
The next and third film, Eclipse, by video music director David Slade, is due on June 30 with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, and Anna Kendrick. It follows Bella's choice between the vampire and the werewolf.
