In a blockbuster theatre week - Martin Guerre (with Iain Glen, above) finally opens on Wednesday and Paul Scofield, Vanessa Redgrave and Eileen Atkins head Richard Eyre's revival of Ibsen's John Gabriel Borkman the day after - comes the news that the redoubtable Joan Littlewood has sanctioned a revival of Oh, What a Lovely War at Greenwich Theatre to be directed by Fiona Laird. Littlewood has been known to refuse permission on more than one occasion, not least to the National Theatre...

Correction

Contrary to the impression given in our review on Saturday, the staging of Eugene O'Neill's A Long Day's Journey into Night, currently playing at London's Young Vic Theatre, is a Plymouth Theatre Royal production.
