The Prince of Wales makes the inaugural presentation of the Prince of Wales Trophy, sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Gardeners, to an outstanding student in the field of organic gardening, at Armoury House, London EC1. The Princess Royal attends the rededication of the Lantern Tower at Blackburn Cathedral, Blackburn, Lancashire; as President of Patrons, Crime Concern, visits Youth Works Burnley, Burnley Wood Community Play Centre, Burnley, Lancashire, and attends a seminar at Burnley Football Club; makes the closing address at the International Council of Nurses' Centennial Conference at Westminster Central Hall, London SW1; and, as Colonel-in-Chief, the Royal Logistic Corps, attends a banquet at Mansion House, London EC4.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Welsh Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Coldstream Guards.
