With just over a month to go until the gates open on the seventh edition of Latitude, we have a treat in store for you all.

We invite you to come along to the next Longitude event on Tuesday 12 June where you can sample some of the delights of the festival with poetry, comedy, cabaret and music all on offer in the amazing location of the members club Century on Shaftesbury Avenue in London. The June event will feature Joel Stickley, Katherine Ryan, WitTank and Liz Green who will all perform in an intimate setting giving you a sneak preview of a little piece of what’s to come at Latitude this year.

Joel Stickley is the author of the hit blog How To Write Badly Well, and co-author of the animated film Crash! Bang! Wallow! which won the NFBC Short Film Award at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, as well as Who Writes This Crap?, which the Guardian called 'an inspired piece of parody'. He is also a member of Aisle16, whose show Poetry Boyband was named Time Out Critics’ Choice of the Year 2005. For Longitude Joel will compere the evening ensuring you are thoroughly entertained throughout the night.

Originally from Canada, not long after her arrival on UK shores, Katherine Ryan made it into the final of the Amused Moose competition and in 2008 she won the prestigious NIVEA Funny Women Award after impressing judges at London's Comedy Store. In a review of a recent performance, the Londonist noted that 'her show is unabashedly feminist, ripping into exploitative reality TV, motherhood and small town-low expectations among others, with a quite dark, savage wit'.

Big characters, inventive sketches and fast-paced fun for those who enjoy a riot but would rather sit in a theatre and laugh. Hotly tipped as ones to watch for the future, come see WitTank, three men who take silly very seriously. Featuring Naz Osmanoglu (Amused Moose winner 2009, So You Think You're Funny? Runner Up 2009, Chortle Best Newcomer nominee), Kieran Boyd (SYTYF? semi-finalist 2009) and Mark Cooper-Jones (no competitive instinct).

28-year-old tragi-comic pop artist Liz Green is, according to family lore, descended from a Liverpool line that includes executioners and rag-and-bone men. What is certain is that she carries on an ancestral tradition of storytelling, as her debut album O, Devotion! testified when it was released by Play It Again Sam in November 2011. With songs inspired by Holocaust chronicler Primo Levi, an inveterate funeral-goer a la Harold and Maude, and The Quiet, about the experience of looking in through the windows of old people’s homes.

We invite YOU to come along to the evening for free and get in the mood for Latitude. All you have to do is email longitude@latitudefestival.co.uk for attendance.
