Letter: Across the barricades

Sir: Ken Livingstone's call for a ban on the British National Party (Comment, 28 April) reeks of Stalinism. The BNP is a totally legal democratic political party.

There are a number of people disillusioned with multiculturalism in this country with no political voice. We give individuals the chance to express their views through the democratic process.

Prohibiting political expression will only push indigenous people further underground.

The two recent London bombs were strongly condemned by the chairman of the BNP. The BNP has never incited racial violence .
