Letter: Ageism in the NHS
Sir: As a pensioner of 71, I was disturbed by the letter on ageism in the NHS (21 April). During my lifetime enormous scientific resources have been poured into the attempt to raise life expectancy. Now that these efforts have been crowned with some success there are apparently too many of us! What is the point of having a longer life if we who are leading it are to be regarded as an unwanted burden?
