Letter: Animals in research

Sir: The Government hopes that the unilateral British renunciation of the testing of cosmetics on animals will give a moral lead to other countries. For decades, successive governments have assured us that the unilateral renunciation of nuclear weapons would be ineffective in providing such a lead.
