Letter: In brief
Sir: A postscript to your article "Abbey appoints Catholic organist" (28 May): it is the opinion of many of us in the profession that, through broadcasts, recordings and tours but most importantly through daily choral services at Westminster Cathedral, James O'Donnell has proved himself to be the best liturgical musician and choirmaster in Britain. His appointment to Westminster Abbey is a rare example of one made primarily on musical merit.
