Sir: So Malwyn Thomas (letter, 22 June) believes that the overwhelming majority of people living in Britain would opt to make new homes in America rather than on the Continent. I would not be joining him, nor would so many as he believes. I would quite happily live in France, Spain or Italy. The American dream is not for me, thank you, charming as Americans individually can be.
