Letter: In the party lists
Sir: I fully agree with John Bennett and Richard Bartle (letters, 26 May). The purpose of an election is to achieve representation of the people, not representation of parties. The purpose of reform should be to ensure that as many people as possible are represented by an identifiable member of their choice, not by a group of party placemen.
I shall mark my paper for the European election "Not for a Party List". I encourage others to do likewise.
