Letter: MPs' private lives

Sir: I found Lord Tebbit's intervention in the debate on Sexuality and Office thoughtful and refreshing.

It is disappointing though that he failed to build on such solid foundations. As a consequence we are left cruelly unenlightened in the anguished quest for probity in Government. Should Agriculture, Education, EMU, or Defence be entrusted to homosexuals?

The people of this country are crying out for clarity and certainty and only a complete, definitive list will do.
