Sir: What an amazing range of standards our leaders set for themselves! One Cabinet minister resigns through having accepted a dinner invitation from a stranger, which he describes as a "serious lapse of judgement", whilst a former prime minister takes tea with the Butcher of Santiago without as much as batting an eyelid.
