Sir: Your sports department's poll of the 100 sportsmen and women of the 20th century (report, 27 December) should surely not have excluded CB Fry, world record-holder for the long-jump, who played football, and cricket (as captain) for England, captained Southampton in the FA Cup final, and scored centuries in six successive first class innings (still a record). A man so famous in his day that the Albanians asked him to be their king.
