Letters: US led from behind

Sir: Here she goes again, hitting a wrong note once more.

In her crusade to convince the rest of the world that a diet of English language only is good for their liberty, Baroness Thatcher puts forward the argument that America has not only been a great power in this departing century, it has also been a great moral example.

America is the only nation in the 20th century that has used nuclear power against civilian populated areas. And perhaps Baroness Thatcher should ask the victims of the American campaign in Vietnam what a great moral example their experience has been.
