'Iron Man 3 was superb. I love a blockbuster'
Friday 23 August 2013
I'm listening mostly to "Best Of Compilations" for Underworld, The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers as I write my fifth album. But I've also been dipping in an out of the new Jay-Z album, the AlunaGeorge debut record and also the new White Lies album.
I've seen The Wolverine which I found predictable. The Lone Ranger was a nice surprise – a lot of fun despite the bad reviews in the US. Iron Man 3 was superb. I love a blockbuster. Only God Forgives was beautiful and unique, but I wish I'd watched it at home. The best film I've seen this year was Mud with Matthew McConaughey.
I'm a huge fan of Boardwalk Empire, Homeland and Sons Of Anarchy. I can't wait for them to start up again. I've only just got into Breaking Bad and Game Of Thrones but I'm becoming slowly addicted to them, too. Luther is probably the best thing on UK TV at the moment.
I've been to two this year: Club To Catwalk at the V&A, which was fascinating; I enjoyed the Richard Hamilton exhibition at the Tate Modern – I was looking for ideas for my new album cover.
