Eurovision 2014: Trivia quiz – how much do you know about the annual cheese-fest?
In the 40 years since the band’s notorious performance of “Waterloo”, there have been record-breaking scores, three consecutive wins for one country, and even a few winning entries for Britain.
Much though Brits like to bemoan the UK’s recent lacklustre performance at the contest, Britain has in fact won five times, making us joint second for the most number of wins since Eurovision began in 1956.
Molly Smitten-Downes, the UK’s entry this year, is hoping she can improve our recent track record with a fresh song she wrote herself.
The previously unsigned singer-songwriter from Leicestershire will be performing “Children of the Universe” after being scouted by the BBC.
