Fantasy band: Tim DeLaughter, The Polyphonic Spree
'I used to hop in elevators to Percy Faith's arrangements'
Strings: Percy Faith
I would have strings in this band (hell, I do!). The first person I would ask would be Percy Faith, his arrangements are pure bliss. When I grew up as a kid I used to hop in the elevators because Percy's music was always playing in them to calm people down, to kill their anxiety. And it had an impact on me – I'm a huge Percy Faith fan.
Horns: Ennio Morricone
I'm gonna add some horns (of course I am). This would be none other than Ennio Morricone. His tones slay me. I've made it quite clear I want “The Strong” played at my funeral. His horn arrangements basically defined spaghetti Westerns.
Bass: Joseph Scott
On bass it would be Joseph “Lucky” Scott. Listen to Curtis Mayfield and you'll see why. I'll need some soul to balance it all out.
Vocals: Karen Carpenter
I would like Karen Carpenter to sing the vocals, the depth of her range is crazy awesome. If Karen had had more time on this world she would have really taken it to a whole new level.
Drums: Ringo Starr
I would have Ringo on the drums. He's the best!
Guitar: Kevin Shields
Kevin Shields on guitar...he would stretch out everyone's intentions to a point of complete madness.
