The good, the mad and Chris Brown: Gossip from the Grammys

While the Baftas glowered under grey skies and sleet, last night's Grammys enjoyed the far more clement Los Angeles weather. But, aside from the winners in the massive 81 different categories, what were the talking points?

Sold the caravan... kept the curtains: Despite 21 coming out in early 2011 and having picked up 94 Grammys last time, Adele took “Best Solo Pop Performance” for the second year in a row. Let someone else have a go! But at least she managed to take the villain of the night (Chris Brown) to task. See below.

Jurassic larks: And the Grammy for lady dressed most like a dinosaur goes to... Florence Welch. This Givenchy frock saw Flo put on a host of worst-dressed lists, but we thinks it’s fierce...

Give you a tenner for it... Carrie Underwood, winner of the “Country Solo Performance” Grammy revealed that this necklace was worth $31m (£20m) – about the same price as Mario Balotelli.

Nice dress, shame about the accessory... Uh oh. Four years to the weekend since assaulting her on his way to the Grammys, Chris Brown and Rihanna appeared together to worldwide “tuts”.

Brown might have hoped to keep a low profile during the ceremony, but he didn't count on uber-successful British export Adele, who wasn't too pleased to see Brown sitting out a standing ovation for rival Frank Ocean while the latter collected his Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Ocean's album Channel Orange, which has been a huge critical hit, beat Brown's own album, Fortune.

Afterwards pictures appeared to show Adele giving Brown a dressing down over the graceless snub.

Slightly embarrassed, Brown looked like he was trying to explain himself to Adele as he reached out to grab her hand, but the Skyfall chanteuse continued to say her piece.

The two men, who occupy quite distant points on the hip-hop spectrum, do have form.

Just three weeks ago, police in the Los Angeles area were called in about reports of an altercation between the singers over a parking space.
