Glastonbury 2015 arrivals in pictures: 90 per cent of festival-goers expected get there today

Glastonbury doesn’t actually have a license for outside music until 11am Friday morning but that won’t stop the vast majority of the 135,000 ticket holders flocking to Worthy Farm this morning.

In fact, festival officials say that last year 90 per cent of all ticket holders had arrived by the end of Wednesday. Add to that the army of 50,000 workers and charity volunteers and the field around Pilton will soon be a city the size of Oxford.

Since gates opened at 8am revellers have been flocking in armed with tents, wellies and as much cider as they can carry. Many will have had to battle heavy traffic and queues before offloading their baggage and setting up camp.

So far the farm has been graced with dry weather and temperatures are set to stay at around 21 and 22C Wednesday and Thursday, before the usual Glastonbury rain arrives on Friday.

This year’s headline acts gracing the Pyramid Stage include Florence And The Machine (who replaced the Foo Fighters following Dave Grohl’s accident) on Friday, Kanye West on Saturday (much to the chagrin of 113,000 people who have petitioned against him) and old timers The Who on Sunday on.
