On February 15, rock band the Foo Fighters, fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, announced the title and track listing for their new album. Wasting Light is set to drop on April 11 in the UK and April 12 in the US.
Fans also got the first full taste of the album on February 14 with a retro-style video for the track "White Limo," a three-and-a-half minute screamfest. The clip features the band riding around in a white limousine emblazoned with an "FF" logo.
Wasting Light is their seventh full-length LP and is produced by Nirvana producer Butch Vig. Following a leaked snippet of the opening track "Bridge Burning," the band recently released another "morsel" of music from the record at Foofighters.fm. The album's single "Rope" is set to drop on March 1.
Late last month the band previewed the entire album at a small show at the Velvet Jones club in Santa Barbara, California, and Grohl claims it will be their "heaviest" album yet, according to NME.
The track listing of the album is as follows:
"Bridge Burning"
"Rope"
"Dear Rosemary"
"White Limo"
"Arlandria"
"These Days"
"Back & Forth"
"A Matter Of Time"
"Miss The Misery"'
"I Should Have Known"
"Walk"
Three of the Foo Fighters' previous six albums have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, with all six being nominated. Their last effort, 2008's Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, won a Grammy Award and Brit Award for Best International Album, in addition to reaching number one in four countries.
The band is set to tour Europe this summer and will headline the NME Awards Big Gig on February 25 at Wembley Arena in London.
