Rap mogul Jay-Z has teamed with Skullcandy to release custom-designed headphones, the first joint venture between the audio company and Jay-Z's Roc Nation brand. The resulting Aviator model, which sells for $149.95, is on sale in the US as of June 21 and will soon be available internationally.

Jay-Z joins Dr. Dre, Lady Gaga, and Diddy as celebrities to recently endorse their own custom-designed headphones. Dr. Dre began the trend with a range of Beats by Dre headphones ($149.95-$349.95); Lady Gaga followed suit in October 2009 with Heartbeats in-ear headphones ($119.95), and Diddy's Diddybeats in-ear headphones ($179.95) followed in May. All three lines are part of the Beats by Dre brand.

The Roc Nation Aviator headphones come in white, black, and brown, and feature polycarbonate headphone cups, memory foam ear cups, and a variety of materials used in high-quality eyewear.

The Aviators are the first product to come out of the partnership between the two brands. Future products have not been announced, but Skullcandy's current offerings include mp3 player watches, a range of audio accessories, and apparel and gear with integrated audio technology.
