Most blogged artists: Beach House, Kanye West, Twin Shadow
Wednesday 05 January 2011
On January 5, US duo Beach House still holds the top spot as the blogosphere's hottest musical act, according to The Hype Machine. US rapper and producer Kanye West takes second place while British music outfit Gorillaz moves into third. Reentering the day's top ten is US indie artist Twin Shadow.
Kanye West rises three slots into number two after a new track called "Eyes Closed," from the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy sessions, reportedly leaked. "With its 808s-esque blip-bloop bouncing along and a distorted guitar riff," writes blogger Muzjiks (www.muzjiksradio.com), this track "didn't quite make it off the Hawaiian cutting room floor."
Twin Shadow, aka Brookyn-based musician George Lewis Jr., reenters the blogs after a couple of remixes of his tracks hit the blogosphere recently, including a revised "Castles in the Snow" by DJ Com Truise and a remix of "Slow" by Fever Ray producer Van Rivers. "Synth forces unite in this moody refit," writes blogger RCRDLBL (rcrdlbl.com) of the Van Rivers track. "This one moves like new wave molasses: thick, dark, and smooth as can be."
