American indie band Deer Tick continues to be the most talked-about musical act in the blogosphere on April 13, according to The Hype Machine. Garage/house music producer Todd Edwards and Philadelphia psychedelic rock band Dr. Dog are in second and third, while Crystal Castles and Owen Pallett are new to the top ten.

Crystal Castles is a Canadian electronic duo from Toronto known for chaotic live shows and a dark, melancholic sound. The duo's 2008 self-titled debut album was included among NME Magazine's Top 50 Albums of the Decade, and its second album, name yet to be announced, is due out in June. The band is in the blogs following the announcement that it will release a 7" vinyl in honor of Record Store Day on April 17 with the new single "Doe Deer" plus three previously unreleased tracks. Also being passed around is a remix by Midnight Conspiracy of the duo's track "Crimewave" that was commissioned to promote the band's upcoming album, single, and tour.

Owen Pallett, also from Toronto, is a composer, violinist, and singer who plays experimental music sometimes called Baroque pop. He released his most recent full-length album, Heartland, in January, described by Comfort Music (www.comfortradio.org) as "Sufjan Stevens-meets-Philip Glass." A 12" single of remixed tracks from Heartland is due to be released on June 22 by Domino Records, and bloggers are sharing an mp3 of Dan Deacon's remix of the track "Lewis Takes Off His Shirt."
