Most blogged artists: Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Cee-Lo Green
Friday 05 November 2010
American rapper Kanye West resumes his former standing as the most-hyped artist in the blogosphere on November 5, according to The Hype Machine. US indie rockers Smith Westerns and Australian outfit Tame Impala take second and third positions. Also in the top ten: Kid Cudi and Cee-Lo Green.
Rapper Kid Cudi remains hot in the top ten after his second studio album, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, leaked before its scheduled November 9 release. Bloggers are reviewing the album, which features collaborations with Kanye West, Cee-Lo Green, and Mary J. Blige. "Before I give a look at Cudi's newly released album, I wanted to point out my favorite thing thus far - Mary J. Blige," writes music blogger Silence No Good (silencenogood.net). "Not only does she accompany Cudi on two tracks, but the two bring out a more sophisticated side of his music."
Hip-hop/funk/soul singer, songwriter, and producer Cee-Lo Green climbs into the day's top ten as his third solo LP, The Lady Killer, streams live on the NPR website. The album drops on November 9, and the video for its lead single, "Fuck You," became a viral hit with over two million views within a week of its release. "The Southern soul belter, who really can do no wrong musically, has sculpted a bonafide R&B/soul classic in this third solo effort," writes Mixtape Maestro (mixtapemaestro.net).
