Most blogged artists: Kanye West, Yuck, Sufjan Stevens

Rapper Kanye West resumes his title as the most popular act in the blogosphere according to The Hype Machine, October 8. Atlanta rockers Deerhunter drops to second place, while Animal Collective's Avey Tare remains in third. Also, UK band Yuck and indie artist Sufjan Stevens hold their spots in the top ten.

UK rock band Yuck has been drawing attention lately for its singles "Automatic" and "Daughter." Recently signed with label Fat Possum, the group will release its debut full-length album early next year. Meanwhile, bloggers are circulating the track "Rubber." "It all starts off pleasantly, but the fuzzy guitar soon turns into an awesome snarling beast, and at seven minutes long, certainly stays around long enough to make an impression," reviews blogger The Daily Growl (thedailygrowl.co.uk).

Indie-folk singer Sufjan Stevens has been a regular in the blogs since releasing a 60-minute EP titled All Delighted People in August. He also plans to release a full-length album, The Age of Adz, on October 12, which has been streaming live on NPR. "Within eleven tracks, Stevens has attempted to combine the culmination of five years of experimentation, self-reflection and personal growth," writes blogger Obscure Sound (obscuresound.com) of the new album. "Instead of full-fledged orchestral rumblings, Stevens has opted to use electronics for The Age of Adz."
