Musician Katy Goodman's project La Sera rises to the top of the most-blogged artists chart on January 17, according to The Hype Machine. US indie rock band Smith Westerns are in second place while Brit band British Sea Power takes third. Also in the day's top ten are Ducktails and Holy Ghost!.

Ducktails is the one-man psychedelic pop project of Matthew Mondanile, guitarist for New Jersey rock band Real Estate. He just released a preview of his upcoming Ducktails III: Arcade Dynamics, his third LP, by sharing the track "Killing the Vibe." The track features Panda Bear of the band Animal Collective and is described as a "mellow, slower burner" and a "summery, lo-fi jam" by music blogger Hotcakes (likehotcakes.net).

Brooklyn synth pop duo Holy Ghost! is set to release its debut self-titled LP April 15 and has just released the first single, "Do It Again." Music blogger Silence Is Boring (silenceisboring.com) describes the tune as a "driving hook heavy track that sounds funnily enough like that Men Without Hats track 'The Safety Dance.'"
