Most blogged artists: Sleigh Bells, Phosphorescent, Phantogram

Brooklyn noise pop band Sleigh Bells, indie rock group The National, and Sri Lankan-born rapper M.I.A. hold their spots as the most blogged acts on The Hype Machine on May 19, and the rest of the top acts also keep their positions. Among bands that have climbed back into the top ten this week are Phosphorescent and Phantogram.

American indie folk/alt-country act Phosphorescent - also the moniker for the act's frontman Matthew Houck - is back in the blogs following the release of album Here's To Taking It Easy on May 11. Bloggers are commenting on the album and sharing tracks including the single "The Mermaid Parade." I Rock Cleveland (blog.irockcleveland.com) reviews, "On his latest release, Here's to Taking it Easy, Houck not only takes on Country, but also puts his spin on other types of American roots music, like the blues."

Phantogram, a New York electronic duo that released its debut album, Eyelid Movies, in February, is back in the blogosphere following the release of a remix of a song from that album. Brooklyn DJ Alan Wilkis, who is known for his electropop remixes of indie tracks, has released his take on the band's "Mouthful of Diamonds," changing its mood - in his words - from "minimal trip-hop to ultra-layered bubblegum pop, from dark to ultraviolet-bright."
