Land of Talk
“Land of Talk is a delicious cocktail of the raw and the sweet.
The female-fronted trio from Montreal mix brittle, buzz saw guitars with nagging melodies and crackling emotion, built on a bulldozer rhythm section delivered with angst-fused, low-end clatter.
Above this melee, Lizzie Powell’s vocals dominate, recalling Chan Marshall’s warm disquiet and Juliana Hatfield’s bright clarity.
Their new album, ‘Some Are Lakes’, is on One Little Indian on October 6th. Included here is ‘Summer Special’, an anthem for the season.
“The most insistently surging, brilliantly fizz-bomb pop minutes you’ll hear this year” – Time Out
