Adele has been confirmed to sing live at the Brit Awards next year, meaning fans can hopefully expect a repeat of the most memorable performance in the ceremony’s history.

The chart-topper will take to the stage at London’s O2 Arena on 24 February after breaking records around the world with her long-awaited third album 25. It was recently named the fastest-selling album of all time in the UK, as well as the most downloaded number one album.

Adele already has three Brit Awards to her name, including the Critics Choice Award from 2008, and will likely clear up again in 2016.

But gongs aside, all eyes will be on Adele in anticipation of a performance to rival her beautiful rendition of “Someone Like You” five years ago.

Tears were flowing freely into champagne glasses, so best grab the tissues before watching the clip.

Should Adele win big, Brits bosses will be hoping her acceptance speech doesn’t go the way of 2012. The “Hello” singer flipped the bird at presenter James Corden when he cut her off to introduce Blur as the night’s final performers.

Ant and Dec will return to host the Brits, broadcast on ITV. Nominations are announced on 14 January
