BANKS has given her on take on Aaliyah's 1998 track Are You That Somebody? during a Live Lounge session for BBC Radio 1.

The singer rode the wave of 90s nostalgia currently sweeping R&B, performing an acoustic version of the track which originally featured backing vocals from Static Major.

Are You That Somebody? was written for the Dr. Dolittle soundtrack, a surprisingly excellent album that also features Ginuwine, Timbaland and Twista.

BANKS stopped by the Live Lounge while promoting her new single Brain, which was premiered by Zane Lowe back in January and is available to download now.

She finished third in the BBC Sound of 2014 poll at the start of the year, landing a touring spot with The Weeknd, having started writing songs at the age of 15 when she was given a keyboard as a present to help her through her parents' divorce.

Her previous releases include This Is What It Feels Like, Waiting Game, Warm Water and In Your Eyes.
